After putting in new tank and fuel pumps when I filled up the needle would always go past full. I use to get bout 155 miles on a full tank but the truck had a miss. Somewhat fixed the miss only does...

So I changed the tank and fuel pump it runs great for about 10 mins or so then the miss comes back. What do you think about clogged cats caus it blows a lot of of black smoke when you gas it. But...

Changed the egr runs alot better the rod was stuck and seemed to be bent because i couldnt pull it back down. Ran the codes again koeo 31 87 and I dont remember the other one but it was vacuum leak...

I just got a egr today will probably have it on tomorrow. Ill run the test again and see what happens if the same thing I will do it manually. Thanks for all the help.:D

Ok I found the hookups did the key on engine off got code 31 and 87. Key on engin running test the light would stay on and beep don't know what that means. So what now?

Bad coil changed it then it fired right up but still not running right. I took my air box out looking for the hookups can't seem to find them hopefully the previous owner didn't cut them like he did...

I never ran codes I couldn't find the hookups. Went to leave motor wouldn't start would crank but that's all. What do you think bout the inertia switch I did hit the reset button when I was looking...

swapping to 5.0

I have a 87 ranger xlt auto the motor is weak and kinda unreliable. I want to swap to a 302 just wondering what all I will need besides motor a new trans I wanna keep it auto and fuel injected....

Figured out iam geting no spark. The coil is geting power but not firing bad coil or the module on the dis. Maybe something completely different really have no idea.

So I went to pull codes today but I can't find the hookups anywhere. There not where I usually know they. Any idea on where they would be. Its a 87 ranger xlt 2.9 fuel injected.

Iam going to see what codes I get sometime this week ill let ya know what I get. Ill check that to and see what happens hopefully it gets fixed or maybe its just time for a 5.0 swap lol.

So I changed the plugs and wires fuel pump on the frame and filter. Runs a lil better but still not right. Starts fine runs good for awhile then starts to sputter get on the gas then runs fine....

I checked my fuses and all are fine. Filled it up last night got up dismorning and found that my tank is leaking.So could that be the problem. I am going to get a new tank dont really have the money...
