i recently had a bucking/misfire issue. thought might be trans.
i changed the ignition coilpack ,wires and sparkplugs and all seems good now.

What is this called?
i was under the back end spraying some rust reformer and noticed this dangling.
what would this part be called so i can get a new one?
its just in front of the rear driver wheel, holds a hose...

They don't look too bad to me for being the original plugs that came with the truck. the gap seems to have gotten a little wider. no oil or fuel on them.

Well I got no advice but I figured it out.
It wasn't the transmission. It was an engine misfire.
I replaced the spark plugs, wires and ignition coil and everything is running smooth. It sounds...

Hey Everyone.
2005 ranger xlt 4.0 v6
when driving truck seems to shift fine and out of no where clunk and a buck. and keeps going.
No codes yet.
usually around 40 mph and higher.

oh one more thing. My housing has two sensors. i did find one on partsgeek that i think will work but it only comes with one sensor.

ok well i did take the thermo housing out. after another pressure test i could hear air coming out of it. once removed ( what a pain, not as easy as the old '97 ranger) i found puddles of antifreeze...

never had alt off. the area below it to the left of water pump and lower. not sure what it is. i dont think its the oil pan transfer case? maybe?
