Wow, thanks for all the info. My understanding is the pinion seal is the seal that goes to the main driveshaft. Mine is leaking from the side, the axle that goes to the front passenger wheel.

No wonder nobody responded. My mechanic said it was going to be a pain in the ass. He would have to pull off a bunch of parts, some rusty screws and do a lot for this little seal. $300 to 400 easy....

I have an open diff and am kinda sick of it. I'd like to swap it out for a ls. I have 3.73 8.8 axle code 96. Where do I even start looking? What year ranger should I look for the ls? Any suggestions...

haha, no. this has nothing to do with that. some other symptoms are that it seems to shift harder now.

I'll keep my foot on the break til after the truck is off and it seems to lunge or creep...

My truck recently started to have an issue of lunging forward after putting in park and releasing the brake. It also seems to be tougher to shift out of park.

Looking for suggestions to toughen up my truck
