A po174 lean code, is a code for for bank 2. (the left) drivers side of the engine on a ford vehicle with a transverse mounted v-6 engine & front wheel drive. This code will not set on a 4 cylinder...

Was the crank sensor unplugged? Is it getting fuel & spark? Go back over it & see if you left any wires unplugged. Also check to see if the firing order is correct. It sounds like if it is backfiring...

Depends on the brands used. I've seen them on the sides & the tops. Some don't have them at all. Maybe the installer forgot to install them. they can be drilled & tapped so you can lube...

Sounds like a defective fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum line off of the regulator & see if you have fuel there or it looks wet, If you do then you need a new one, thats all.

You might have a starter draw test & a battery test done, & maybe have someone test the whole charging system & then you'll know more.
