Re: Clutch issue has me stumped

Pull the stub and make sure the 3 levers are lined up in neutral then reinstall stub. I bet your issue has something to do with the stub/shifter being pulled.

Re: Hello

Start a new thread in the 4 banger engine forum. Your truck is pretty bulletproof. Most issues can be easily solved, parts are cheap at places like rockauto. Create a signature and buy a code...

Re: 2004 4.0 V6 having multiple issues help

Ok

1)Get a scanner and re-scan it

2)post ALL of the actual codes here. We don't want "it misfires or it's the o2" we want the actual codes i.e. p0301, etc.

3)I know they said plugs and...

Re: 2004 4.0 V6 having multiple issues help

Does the engine run at all? If the engine does not run at all and or cranks over easily you should check for a timing chain issue?

The ignition control module is part of the ECU? Was the ECU...

Re: Clutch issue has me stumped

This is what the shift stub looks like. It's held in with bushings. When you remove it you can see inside the tranny like the 2nd pic shows. DID YOU AT ANY POINT REMOVE THE SHIFT STUB?

Re: Clutch issue has me stumped

Did you at any time in the repair pull the shift stub out of the tranny?

I looked at 4 or 5 vids didn't see shifter in any. I'll go back and watch again

Re: First time Ford Pickup owner

Replacing the fuel filter is always a good idea but You should diagnose it before throwing any parts at it. A $20 pressure tester will do it in a few minutes. There's Schrader valve on the fuel rail...

Re: Clutch issue has me stumped

I don't think that's it. Unless I misread his post. The OP is saying he can't move the shifter at all. My guess is he couldn't get the shifter detached from the stub(simple but weird bolt) in the...

Re: Clutch issue has me stumped

Your levers inside the tranny are not lined up. Pull the shifter and then the stub and use a big screwdriver to line the 3 levers up inside the tranny, then reinstall the stub and the shifter. 10...

Re: What could cause this misfire

I'm with Tom on the coolant temp sensor. When truck is first started it runs in open loop and only a few sensors are used. The Coolant temp sensor is one of them. If you can get Torque working you...

Re: FRF Watercooler/BS Thread 2017

The bottom line is you don't get to do whatever you want at your job. If you're taking a knee instead of framing the house the boss can fire you. Football is a job. If you ask me these players are...

Re: Misfire, and lean bank 1&2 when cold.

Don't these engines have faulty intake manifold gaskets?

Re: Ebrake cable and light

the brake light issue is caused by the parking brake switch. Try wd40 on it, if that does nothing replace it.

I would put tape on the cable for now but plan on replacing it. The ebrake cables can...

Did you find Ron D at the other forum? He's a good guy and knows his stuff.

You got some funky codes there. Are you sure the battery is good? Normally I would agree with an earlier post that the...

Re: I need your opnion please

I don't want to comment on any price you should pay for the truck (it always turns into a flaming DB session). However timkin hubs are $115 each. Transfer case motor is $70. Cv shaft $50. 4wd module...

Re: I need your opnion please

The front axle is live, meaning it's always turning even in 2wd. I'm not sure why banging on a hub would knock it out of 4wd. The 4wd connection is made,at the transfer case using The shift motor. ...

Re: I need your opnion please

The 4.0 timing chain was pretty much resolved by 2005. I think the 3.0 still had a head/burnt exhaust valve issue in 2005. The 1999 2.5 is bulletproof.

I've owned a 99 2.5 2wd a 2004 3.0 2wd...

Re: Just turned 16, which Rangers should I look at?

Rangers do not come stock with a Turbo.

With your budget I would look for a 1998 and up 2wd, 4 cylinder, 5 speed. The powertrains are pretty bullet proof. Try to find one with a good body and...

Re: 2.3 low power

Any chance you change the temp sensor for the gauge instead of the ECT sensor for the PCM? What temp is the engine running at when warmed up?
