If I remember correctly the cam gear bolts (if that's what you're talking about) aren't that light of a torque spec. I think it should be around 68 ft/lbs per cam. The one on the back is reverse...

If you took the shifter out while it was in gear, then that's your problem. Take the shifter back out and make sure all the shift forks are aligned. If not it'll do this.
