If you took the shifter out while it was in gear, then that's your problem. Take the shifter back out and make sure all the shift forks are aligned. If not it'll do this.

You want the one that says without FX4 package. The 4x4 and FX4 package for the 2002 year were different vehicles.

From what I've gathered ford put one on the rear to 1: space under the hood 2: run the oil pump and keep the same block as the 4.0 OHV to save cost
