Re: 2003 Regular Cab 4cl Diagnoses

Re: Using too high of a gear

Engine balance is achieved by crankshaft counterweights and sometimes by an additional balance shaft driven by the timing belt/chain. When the engine runs slower than it was designed for, these...

Re: Dash lights?

For my 2011 I went with these T5 neo wedge leds that work great. Nice and bright! The dealer quoted me $43 CAD each for the stock ones. I think 20 of these leds were less than...

Re: Ford Ranger Returning in 2019

Yeah same here! I've seen them in the mid 50 k range here in Canada. I'll stick with my 2011 for now.

Re: Tie rod boot

Whether it's grease-able or not, there is grease inside of it to lubricate the joint. If the joint is exposed, it will wear out quickly so I would just grab a new one.

Re: Odometer stopped working

If that's the case, I would plug into it with a scan tool and see if any related fault codes existed.

Someone else might know if the odometer info is stored in the cluster or the ecm, I'm not...

Re: Truck not coasting well!

Yeah you'd smell the burning as well as feel the heat. The rotors may look bluish in color if overheated. Other than that unless all the tires are nearly flat, it could just be that your new truck is...

Re: Truck not coasting well!

Get the wheels up in the air and spin them by hand. It shouldn't feel sticky at all, just a light dragging sound from the pads at most. You can try cracking all your bleeders on the calipers and see...

Re: Water getting sucked into blower motor from car wash

You likely have the drain of the hvac unit clogged with leaves and other stuff. Find the bottom of the box on the outside and see if you can get a coat hanger up there to dislodge the blockage. You'd...

Angry 2011 Ranger 4x4 not working all the time

Hi Gang,

I haven't been on here for a while, but I'll try to make more frequent visits. Anyway, I'm having a problem with my 4x4 that started out intermittent and now does it all the time. The...

Re: Cb antenna ideas

Keep in mind co-phased or dual antennas only really work when about 8 or 9 feet apart and you're only talking about a few decibels of gain.

Re: Want to supercharge a 4.0 sohc

I hear the weak link on the sohc is the pistons, not exactly sure on the details but you would probably be safe on 5, maybe 8 lbs of boost max.

Re: 2011 XLT Styleside Ranger Mud Flaps

Same with my 2011. I just put some aftermarket ones on the front. You can steal a screw from the fender flare if you have them and put another one in the flare itself.

Re: 2003 Ford Ranger Brake Issue

Abs should only come on when 1 or more wheels lock up. It could be a sensor issue if it's happening on dry pavement. No dash lights at all hey?

Re: Hows your GAS MILEAGE on ur truck? Let me know here.

I get around 20-21 mpg, mostly highway for me though. 2011 sport 4x4 5 speed, 4.0 sohc and 3.73:1 gears. I used to have a fuelly account but gave up on entering receipts in. Maybe I'll go back if...

Oil spill
