Mine was more of a loud clang not a rattle when I hit bumps..... it was a broken leaf hitting the frame.

Check your dip stick. Before I fixed my ranger it was burning coolant and oil , when the oil pressure went crazy and it was low when it did it. Also the company I worked for had a 99 f450 that did...

I had the same problem in my 99 ranger, I'm no mechanic.. but my problem was an O2 sensor in bank 2 (or something like that) swapped it out and purr's like a kitten now. B4 that I also tried the MAF...

Leaf springs help pleas?
I have a 99 ranger single cab 4x4 with the 4.0 (auto).The suspension is shot I need to get shocks and I also have 2 broken leafs 1 on each side.
I want to beef it up a bit since it is a work truck...
