I done mine this spring and I used a heat gun to warm the plastic around the clips, made it super easy to get apart and did'nt break any clips.

On my escape (post #12) we tried the solenoids did not fix it ,turning OD off made no difference .My problem was the converter. Picked it up Friday all is good . I hope the solenoids fixed yours

Yes BUT the iac instantly adjusts for that change in load.

A/C compressors ALWAYS cycle ,even when perfectly charged. Clean or replace your idle air control valve (iac valve) .The iac compensates for the AC and other conditions,That's why it is there.

Definitely have the cel codes read. while you are at auto zone pick up a can of cleaner for the iac valve ,It is super easy to r&r and clean. your codes may or may not be related to the idle problem...

I've also tried waiting a few seconds after turning the key on to let the pump do its thing, You need to turn the key on -off-on -off as the pump only runs for 2 seconds at a time if it does not...

Did you find anything out on this ?I have an 05 Escape doing the exact same thing. I had it power flushed and a bottle of lubrguard added ,it still does it.

If you are spraying into the key hole you are spraying in the wrong place. spray into the door latching mechanism that holds the door shut when you close it.

That is exactly the hose I was referring to. But the hose was clear, the blockage was in the pump.:)

I had the same issue with my 01 ranger edge 4.0 4x4.I pulled the fill neck and vent tube out and hooked up a short extension hose on it so I could blow through it. I could hardly get any air through...

After I asked why on 4x4 only, I kept thinking about it and I now thing It is because in 4low there is a high probability of much higher RPMs than 2wd.Just my opinion.Dennis

I suspect you twisted off the pinon shaft. pull the cover off, turn the drive shaft by hand and the ring gear should turn. If it doesn't, time for a tear down.If it does look at the spider gears or...

4x4's also have a balance shaft along the passenger side of the engine that has its own chain from the crank. What is this balance shafts purpose? And why 4x4 only?Thanks Dennis
