Re: Should I get a Bed Mat

Why not get a bed mat that covers the whole bed? The company is called BedRug. It's a soft bed liner that keeps the bed nice, the whole bed.

Re: Exhaust Ideas Performance Discussion

You won't see a lot of difference in MPG or HP from a bolt-on catback. You'll change the sound and could have a nicer looking system. But power or mileage change will be negligible.

Watch the...

Re: Affordable push bar online?

Westin makes a couple of small bull bars that might fit the bill. Part # 30-0020-1165 and 33-0880 will fit '03 Rangers as well as some other years. See the pics.

Re: metal chop saw

It depends on what you're cutting. Remember, a chop saw with an abrasive blade will cut quickly, but the cut isn't very neat.

I used a high torque, low RPM cold cut saw for getting precise cuts on...

Re: Door ajar/ Dome light wont work

Since it works on the passenger side, but not the driver, that indicates something is wrong on the driver. The switch that is released when the door is open may be bad.

Re: winch mounting question

There are a couple of hitches available for a 2005 ranger. Again the Curt 31019 and Draw-Tite also has their 65024. The Curt instructions are in my previous post, here are the Draw-Tite instructions....

Re: Hitch Decisions.

Any hitch retailer that has a decent selection of drawbars and hitch covers should also have tow hooks or shackles for 2 inch receivers. See the pics below.

Re: tow capacity

The capacity might be on the build sticker on the driver's door jamb. It will definitely be in the owner's manual. Just find the listing that matches the equipment and options for your particular...

Re: How To: Clean IAC (Idle Air Control)

The IAC is basically a miniature throttle body that is controlled by the computer. When parked or stopped, your foot is off the gas so the throttle body is closed. The IAC opens and closes to allow...

Re: Trailer Harness power problem

If you have a circuit tester, check the trailer connector first. One step at a time, you can narrow down the problem.

Clip the ground of the circuit tester onto the ground pin on the trailer...

Re: 2008 grille guard

A grille guard is the tubing that sits in front of the vehicle and protects the grille.

Re: Stepside toolboxes

You can paint polished aluminum. A good metal primer is going to be a must.

I can check to see if there are other options available. Year, trim level and bed configuration for your Ranger? We...

Re: trailer towing

Check with your state DOT. Some states require trailer brakes on trailers of a certain weight, and 2,000 pounds is a common cut-off. It not only makes the whole rig safer, but reduces the wear and...

Re: tow capacity

That's not bad at all. There used to be fifth wheel kits available for the Ranger. They can be pretty capable for their size.

Re: trailer towing

Autos typically have a greater towing capacity. Down-shifts don't harm an automatic, they do it all the time. If you're cruising along a flat surface when towing a trailer, you can leave overdrive...

Re: all your vehicles

Had a 1992 Ford F-150 XLT. 300 I6, Auto, Dual Tank 8 ft. bed. Loved that truck. Got handed down to my brother.

Then I got a 2001 Mustang Bullitt which I still drive. Wife has a 2006 Ford Escape....

Re: tow capacity

Remember though, tow capacity is based on more than just engine and trans. Suspension, axle ratio, drive configuration and other factors go into it as well. Owner's manual is always the best way to...

Re: Bed Cover - 2008 Fx4 extended cab

Re: has anyone installed a brake controller

I don't think all Rangers necessarily came with a 4-Way, but if you have a working one on the truck, you've got about 1/2 the wiring done for a 7-Way.

Were you able to get the controller in and...

Re: winch mounting question

There is one hitch available for a 1998 Ranger, Curt # 31019. The skid shield would need to be removed and it will not fit Canadian built 2WD models. We have a note on that hitch about not fitting...
