When in gear i get no click at all, only when in park or neutral. I also unplugged the NSS and got no click at all again. So i assume this means the NSS is working correctly.

yup... its the cam synchronizer, and man it appears to be a pain in the butt to get to!!

on the step side they are fiberglass fenders that come right off with about 12 screws/bolts. already had them off once to replace the shackle brackets and hangers on each side

as you can see, its backwards.... hopefully, i can just take it off and reverse it, and that will solve it. BUT, history of working on this truck has proven to me that its not always that easy :)
