Will a engine out of a 2000 ford ranger 2.5l fit into a 83

I have a 2000 2.5l engine and was wondering if I could put that in an 83 ranger that had a 2.3l. With the tranny as well. Any ideas??

2000 ford ranger part out. 2wd 2.5l 4cyl

I have a 2.5l 4 cyl engine with tranny5 Spd that came out of a 2000 ford ranger 2wd. 170k on the motor. The engine is running. Clutch replaced in July of 2011, great engine never had any problems...
