Peel and Seal?
If you close up the big hole your midbass should improve greatly. I'd also but some deadner all the way around the speaker baffle in case there are any air leak. Just my 2 cents.

Nice SA-15s. I'm assuming thats a buck design?
Should be loud with subs forward port up both to the ear on the meter should you get on a meter.

Slightly. Aeros are more efficient so you need the same before port and displacement but your port area can be smaller(if I'm wording this right, extremley tired tonight). I use aeros a lot to test...

Interesting. I'm too tall to have my seats like that though lol. If I'm seeing correctly the port is on the bottom? Vertical port might work better. Just a "guess" though. Never tried subs up port...

I ran 4 e8s across the back of my ranger at point. Subs up port up.Was a pretty badass sounding and looking setup. 15's never really worked for me unless you want subs forward in like a half or full...

In this case, your full size sub most likely did not have enough airspace and with the shallower sub you have a lot less displasement so it sounded better. I kind of agree though. Shallow mount subs...

Not a 12 but these are some of the best shallow mounts around IMO. You HAVE to build or have someone build a box though otherwise they will sound horrible. Told my buddy to buy them and he put them...

With a proper size, properly tuned, and properly built ported box will sound just as crisp as a sealed box. Now if we are talking prefab to prefab then yes. Sealed is crisper than ported.
