Oil in the Cam Synchronizer

Check engine light comes on, has the code for the CPS (cam sensor). When I remove the old sensor to install new one, there's oil in there; the inside of the sensor where it contacts the synchronizer...

I had read somewhere online to clean it with brake cleaner...didn't know any better. I'll get some MAF cleaner and try the other one I got. THANKS EVERYONE!

Engine is running smoothly and fumes coming out the exhaust don't really smell rich. I just got quoted $78 for each of the front O2's and $55 for the rear.

Thanks for all your help guys. Went to Sears, got me a strap wrench with an aluminum handle and, voilą. Oh, and they do loosen clockwise (opposite from normal). Thanks again for your help.
