p1506 is a Idle air control overspeed error (see p0507). I have the 1506 code myself and am trying to figure out what to do about it, so I cant help you much more right now.....

I finally got closure on this back in May but forgot to post it.

Broke the problem down and searched it out like this.....

Running lean (P0171) is caused by either a) too much air, or b) too...

yep, already cleaned the MAF. will check fuel pressure soon, when I can find a gauge. dont notice any exhaust leaks on the front side of the catalyst.

Since I don’t drive my Ranger that much I have been looking for a cause for by P0171 code only sporadically over the past couple of months. Knowing that vac leaks are a main cause I have checked...

DeckedOut - I took the hoses loose at both ends and put the 'ole country vacuum on them (put finger on one end and sucked on the other). Only found one that made noise or didnt hold the vacuum. ...

I have been searching for a vacuum leak that would give me a P0171(PO171) code on my 2000 2.5 man Ranger. Have traced many hoses/tubes but no leaks. The pic shows a part that has a couple of vacuum...

did you get an answer for this? my 2000 2.5 4cyl had an always-low gauge. I bought a new sensor (gauge sensor) but wasnt the problem. by the way, the wire plug for the coolant sensor will only fit...
