Re: Major diag problems and need help!

Did you ever find out what the cause of the problem and all of the codes was? My nephew's wife's truck is setting the P0300, P0301 and P0316 codes and also shudders or bucks at highway speeds if you...

Re: Starting Delay (Fuel Injector or Fuel Pump??)

Devster,
Good luck and be careful making the change. Just a suggestion...run the tank down pretty low to minimize the weight of the tank when you have to lower/raise it and to minimize splashing...

Re: 3.0 Auto Hesitation, Sputtering, Bucking Missing When Cruising?

Thanks, Dovegabanna. I passed that on to my brother and he's checking the truck as I type. I found several others in the Ranger forum who seem to be describing the same problem, so I've been...

Re: 1999 V-6 3.0 Issue????

Yep. Cylinder 5 is the middle, driver's side cylinder. Passenger side front to back are 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Driver's side front to back are 4, 5 and 6 respectively. Good luck. By the way,...

Re: Time for a New Fuel pump?

Sounds like it'll start and run while you're giving it lots of gas but it'll die if you try to let it idle. I've had cars with those symptoms before and was always able to fix it by cleaning the...

Re: Starting Delay (Fuel Injector or Fuel Pump??)

I had the same problem in a Chrysler minivan. The fuel pressure check valve was allowing fuel pressure bleed back into the tank when the engine was shut off. The check valve was in the fuel pump...

Re: EGR and O2 "Not Ready" during emissions.

One surefire way to clear your codes (and set your emissions code to "not ready") is to remove the battery terminal or let the battery go dead. Has that happened recently/frequently in the recent...

Re: 1999 V-6 3.0 Issue????

mac777daddy,
Watch out for this issue. When we were initially trying to work through the issues with the spark plug misfire, we consulted a Haynes manual for the spark plug lead wiring diagram...

Re: 1999 V-6 3.0 Issue????

My nephew's wife's 2003 Ranger was setting the code indicating the number 1 cylinder was misfiring. We'd also gotten the more generic code for a cylinder misfire on startup (within first 1000 RPMs)....

Re: 3.0 Auto Hesitation, Sputtering, Bucking Missing When Cruising?

Dovegabanna,
Are you saying that the vacuum hose that had come loose was in the air inlet tube that connects the air filter to the throttle body? My nephew's wife's car seems to have the same...

Re: help. im new. and need help w/ my ranger

I'm a newer member than you (by a year) and saw this thread. I realize it is very old and the problem may be resolved, but did you consider that it could possibly be your ignition switch (where you...
