Re: Is 2011 XL single cab pre-wired for fog lights?
Same here, when the father bought his 2010 he bought the fog lights, pigtails and the switch. No wiring under the hood for the lights, we ended up wiring to a toggle switch mounted under the dash and...

When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? More than a year old, I'd start there.

My 09 averaged 6.8 kms/L last tank, so yes 9.5 kms/L is nothing to complain about.

Re: 2009 4.0 oil change
The quality difference is so close between "synthetics" and quality conventional oils these days that it really doesn't matter.

What have you changed and what fuel pressure are you getting? Also what parts have you changed? P0172 &p0175 are running codes both banks. How old is the fuel filter and is it a motorcraft one?

$1000? Good tires, fluid swap, & a tune-up. The Ranger is a workhorse, not a race horse.

Re: driving in the snow
Here in the Maritimes, snow is a way of life in the winter. A foot of snow, you're expected to be on time for work, at 2' then you're allowed some leeway, at 2.5' & blizzard conditions is about when...

Re: Fuel pump "whirling" noise
That's where I'd start. They run about $25, it is located under the drivers seat, clipped into a bracket on the frame rail, takes about 2 minutes to change.

Re: 4.0 SOHC w/ Manual MPG
Same thing found here, mine is kept between 2-3k at all times. OHC engines generally are more efficient at a higher RPM than OHV. My FR-S for instance uses less gas cruising at 3K than 2500 according...

Re: Fuel mileage
Mine averages around 23IMPG right now, I can get 27IMPG on the highway in summer, I do get 17IMPG in the city in January. A V-6 in a 1/4ton burns as much gas as a half-ton with V-8. The reasons are...

Re: Question on performance of 2.3L
A 2.3L will fit your needs adequately. If your concerned about how well it performs, test drive one. The tow rating is 1500lbs, it should handle your bike. The father's 2010 FEL turns in a titch over...
