Re: 2004 and up Ranger to Mustang Dome Light Mod

Hah! Not for me...the Mustang DL I tried to install in my '02 has been nothing but a pain in the butt; may have to go back to the original.

Madrid, a good jack and some jack stands are a necessity for your man card and a halfway decent home garage!

Re: If you have an 01+ 4.0 with lean codes (PO171 and/or PO174) look here!

It's kind of a pain to get the old one off; I had to use a knife to cut it. The new piece should be a breeze! Just put a little dishwasher soap or lithium grease on inside ends of the hose and it...

Re: Bench seats in ext cab

Like it's been said before, it can't be done. If it was possible, it'd be one of the top 10 Ranger mods of all time! Trust me and all the other old-timers on this board: the Ranger is just too small...

Re: Custom center console lid

Yeah, nice work and too much foam is just enough!

Still, my console lid has remained in one piece for thousands and thousands of miles, but I understand it often breaks. What are you guys doing on...

What did I do to my Ranger today, you ask?

Well, perhaps the easiest mechanical job most folks can do: I installed a new tailgate handle. Easy job and the part itself is only $4! Why can't everything be so cheap and straightforward?

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread

Installed a Thermo-Tec battery wrap to preserve my Duralast Gold battery...pretty smooth install and will no doubt keep the thing a little cooler.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread

Well, my Duralast battery finally began its death throes, so I had it tested at AutoZone to confirm the thing was dying. Sure enough, it was toast...well, after several Montana winters and a few...

Motor mount replacement tips?

Hey FRFs:

Just wanted to hear from anyone who's replaced the motor mounts of a 4.0 SOHC in a 4X4 auto Ranger. I'd like to do mine, but I've read somewhere they're a royal PITA. Agree or no?

DannM:

Yep, a standard hose will bend to your wishes without messing up the airflow; its a just a matter of length (sorry, no other way to say that). Just make sure it's neither too long or too...

It's cool, but too bad about the lettering; I don't know if you knew this, but that thing came from a real live missile plant (from the Lockheed Martin site):

Re: How To: Cleaning Throttle Body

FRFs:

I just cleaned my MAF, IAC and TB this week; all were easy to do (thanks to these guides), so if you haven't done it, get on it! Your engine will thank you.

Re: 2011 Ranger Production/Incentives Figures

That's good to know; I just rolled over 117K miles in my Ranger on my morning commute and I'd like to keep it awhile longer (250K is the goal), but I wouldn't mind some new wheels!
