Re: Rough Idling/Misfiring Issues

Just picked up the Ranger.
Went with a reman engine, so obviously no more CELs; we'll see how this $4000 dump goes lol
Maybe I got a lemon engine, but it sucks that only 141,758 miles were put on...

So, for anyone following this thread, I got it to the shop and got my diagnosis and I hope nobody has it happen to them.
Said my compression was low in cylinder 4, so they took a scope into the...

Re: Rough Idling/Misfiring Issues

Update:

At idle, according to scan tool:
Bank 1 STFT: ~ 7-10%
Bank 1 LTFT: ~ 7-10%
Bank 2 STFT: ~ 0-1%
Bank 2 LTFT: ~ 0-1%

At 2000 rpm, everything levels out to about 3% on both banks.

So, I finally jumped on getting a lockright when the price fell to 290 and I put everything in as the manual says, first time inside a differential as well, and the right side will...

Re: 2001 3.0 Misfire at idle when hot

Honestly, this sounds exactly like mine. Most likely the fuel injector. Hopefully it didn't cause the head to burn or the valve seats to warp.

Re: Need help asap

Could possibly be lifters. Hopefully not as serious as mine, which was a spun rod bearing on crankshaft. Ended up sending my connecting rod through the oil pan.

Re: 2002 Ford Ranger rough idle

Has the check engine light come on?
Check the codes, wouldn't be a vacuum leak if only 1 cylinder is misfiring.
If not, do a compression test on all cylinders. That'll tell you if you have a bad...

Re: #6 cylinder misfire

Mine just started doing the same thing and I just got it fixed. It was giving me P0306 and P0316 codes constantly. Idling really rough to near stalling. Ended up being a faulty fuel injector causing...

Door locks itself after being opened

My driver's side door will unlock with the FOB or the key but as soon as you open the door, it locks itself immediately and doesn't do it on the passenger's side. I don't know how this could be...

Re: favorite fake parts

A Master Debater Panel. Someone used that on a guy in the A-10 hangar a few weeks ago. Heard the dude spent like an hour looking up and researching it.

Re: Fuel Pump Relay Won't Switch

I don't know if it's the same problem, but whenever I drove my '05 from Texas to San Diego, it would just shut off everything every 3-4 hours. I thought it was a faulty inertia switch as well and had...
