Re: So how bout' that airbag recall? (Expanded 6/1/16)
There is a new recall on the airbags - Recall 17S42
According to the letter that I received, this recall is required even if the issue has been fixed under a previous recall. Dealers are supposed...

re: Hello, new, old guy with questions about transmission
I opted for the Royal Purple Synchromax because it has a viscosity similar to the specified Mercon. It has improved the shifting of my M5OD greatly. Not 100% perfect, but MUCH better.

Re: Water in Driver's Door??
I can't speak for the OP, but my seals are in reasonably good shape. I think that it is a design issue.
It is interesting to note that , according to the TSB on my Five Hundred, those doors are...

Re: Water in Driver's Door??
Removing the drain plug is OK. I have done it in my Ranger as well.
FWIW, my 2005 Five Hundred had a similar issue with water accumulating in the doors due to the weatherstripping closing off the...

Re: Topper rack brainstorming
It seems like the simplest solution would be to place a couple of 2x6s in the pockets in the side of your bed. They will support 4 ft. wide sheet goods level at the top of the wheel wells. That may...

Re: How do you get this stuff off?
That looks like it could be an asphalt based roof cement. If it is, then mineral spirits will take it off.

Re: Filmy crap on inside windshield
That film on your windows is the plasticizer that has escaped from all the interior plastics and deposited on the windshield.
+1 on the Stoner Invisible Glass. My local Wal-Mart carries it.

Re: newbie..first thread...Amsoil Sig Series ATF in 5 speed manual and transfer case?
You may want to consider using a manual transmission fluid instead of ATF. The MTF has the appropriate Friction Modifiers to assist proper synchro engagement. My limited understanding is that the...

Re: condensation in my headlight
I did this on an '88 F-150 (OEM headlights) and it worked well. As I recall, I drilled two small (about 1/16") holes in the bottom of the headlamp to allow drainage. It worked until I sold the truck...

Re: Check Gauge & Battery light
The alternator, water pump and power steering pump are all driven by the serpentine belt. If they all failed at the same time, I would start by looking at the belt or tensioner.

I've never had a problem with the ink on newspapers (except making...
