Good to hear, took a while Lol. Theres a coating on the inside of the throttle body so the wire brush may have taken some away, just keep it clean.

I think we are talking 2 different things here, one, turn down after muffler and 2, exhaust dump before a muffler?

Ive seen a turn down after the muffler. But Id think at most the exhaust MUST end behind the cab for safety

I speak of the fog switch in the radio bezel on earlier models . This will not work if the fog is in the multi switch on the column. Just use a aftermarket toggle

All the research I did when I had to do a cat-back swap I went with the flow master 80 series I think, it has built in anti-drone with the deepest sound possible with the most minimal 4cyl fart can...

I had a 2001 explorer that switched out the bezel for one with fog and I wired it to a harness with no issue, did they change the switch in later models?

Stick with motorcraft filters (IMO). If it is an oil problem maybe the pump, but its too new for that. Did it do it in drive and park?

Wiring probably isnt there, might be easier to get a basic off road light harness with relay and wire it into the parking lights. switch out the radio bezel with one with a OE fog switch and wire it...

Just on startup could be timing chains, but from back of eng could be cracked flywheel or flapin heat shield underneath somewhere
