Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

Not too much to report as of late- at least not much that can be seen from the outside. Did lift the rear the rest of the way up, got new brakes, ujoint, pinion seal, feels much better driving. Next...

Sounds like a rock stuck in my tire... but no rock! Other sources?

2000 2wd Ranger. Recently had new tires put on, and since them have had them rebalanced and one replaced (faulty tire was out 12 ounces). Drove with the window down for the first time in a while and...

Re: regearing question

Fun Math:

1.16x129(miles driven at last fillup)/9.8(gallons put into tank) looks...

Re: regearing question

Thanks. Guess I'm at a 3.73 though I still can't tell what I 'should' be at now. The first link showed different ratios for different purposes, but doesn't tell me what will put it back to correct...

regearing question

Searched the forum for threads on regearing- but I can't make sense of the info yet because I'm a newbie to this. Basically I went from stock tires to 31s a few months ago and when calculating my MPG...

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

Got my emblem, repainted parts of the grille that got scuffed during install, and removed the rear jump seats. Gonna build some sort of inconspicuous tool storage and a cozy yet safe place for my...

Re: Anyone ever replace their bumper brackets?

The long bracket that goes corner to corner isn't adjustable and the once I posted pics of are only adjustable side to side. Can't figure where the up-down movement would come from.

Re: Anyone ever replace their bumper brackets?

Oy. Hope it's possible to fix the sag without cutting and welding.

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

I hear ya, and to each their own! Luckily I'm a lady so I'm OK with emasculating LOL. Personally after the swap I finally feel like the truck is 'done'. It's not, much left to do, but I'm much...

Re: Anyone ever replace their bumper brackets?

What's confusing is that when I look online for new brackets, I see stuff that looks totally different than what's going on with mine. These are the ones that are bent- and not seeing replacements...

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

Headlights were from Amazon and the grille/header panel were from getallparts

Today I replaced my dimmer switch. I have headlights again and don't have to use my brights like a jerk!! Also put in...

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

Rain died down so I got to finish up.

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

Started the process of swapping the front end today. Got almost done and the skies opened up. Figured "Hey, let's not mess with headlights in the pouring rain" so I'll finish when it dies down.

Anyone ever replace their bumper brackets?

Ordered stuff to swap my 2000 front end with a 2001. As of now the bumper sags a bit- it must have hit something before I bought it. I'll be interested to see what everything looks like when I pull...

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

Aligned and ready to go! Second shop said LOL when I told them about the first shop recommending chopping the tie rods. They DID have to repack the bearings though.

Just went through like 3/4 of this thread over the last week. Wish it was still active!

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

Bought a longer bolt. Also drilled the holes to mount BEFORE setting the height for my tire so yes I know it's not supposed to mount like that and yes I know if I'd read the instructions I would've...

Re: 2000 2WD 3.0- Beginners Build

Greased the bearings and the squeal seems to have subsided. So I ripped out the bed liner, herculined it, and made the jankiest skid plate over ever. The hoses to the transmission cooler were way too...

Did a lift on my 2wd ranger that requires adjustable camber bolts to get a proper alignment. My dumb ass ordered two bolts- forgetting that EACH side needs two bolts. So right now one side has...
