I plugged the vacuum line and did notice a huge reduction in the amount of times it's revvs up that high. However, my tools seemed to have walked off so I'm going to stop being a "mechanic" because...

I bought my 99 2.5L with aprox 51k miles on it about 4 years ago. I just recently rolled over 100k.

Yeah, it has more HP than the 2.5L but it lacks torque. That's the sacrifice of going with a 2.3L.
