I think I am ready to go and get those brakes....Thank you so much for walking me through the process. This is a good learning experience for me; I have not worked on differentials before nor swap...

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end

Agreed...it makes good sense. Now is the removal of the mustang rear axles similar to the ranger?

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end

OK... about the brake lines, I have available the whole rear system. What portion of the rear brake lines should I remove?
This car has a metallic hose (a few inches long) coming from the caliper;...

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end

I found the rear brakes from a 99 Mustang gt 6v. When you say 30 minutes to remove everything, do you include the removal of the rear axles?
Or what is there a quicker way to remove the axle...

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end

I am glad you mentioned it...I have come across sellers that describe the calipers as loaded, semi loaded or unloaded. What is the difference?

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end

I agree with you...it does not hurt to double check things out; it will save a lot of time and aggravations. Thanks for the information.

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end

Sounds great...I will visit a junk yard to look for the parts: flanges, anti moan brackets and calipers. Are these mustang brakes metric or standard? I want to bring the right tools with me.

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end

That is a good option but I am not familiar with mustangs and might pick up the parts from the wrong car...all I know is they have to be from 94-04 mustangs.

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end

What about the axle mounting flanges/brackets (the ones to be modified)? Do they fit both cobra and GT calipers? I am going to do the conversion to GT disc brakes since I have 15" wheels.
I am...

Re: Engine crancks over but not firing

I solved my problem by just replacing all the spark plugs with new ones. The engine fired up with no problem after that.
I do not know if it will be the same in your case, but you can try the...

Re: Engine crancks over but not firing

I have so far checked the three spark plugs on driver side of the engine. I see spark on all three. But the spark electrodes are almost gone...not much of them left... so the gap is really big. Is...

Re: Engine crancks over but not firing

All fuses in the engine compartment fuse box are good.

Is one plug enough to check for spark? Do you do it with each one of the plugs? It is a very congested engine compartment; there is no...

Engine crancks over but not firing

Truck is a 2000 Mazda B3000, 5 speed manual.

I tried to start the truck with no success. It has a strong crank as normal but the engine will not fire even if I keep the key turned on for a few...

Re: Drivers seat Is dumb, Replacements?

Clinton, what do you mean by seat brackets? Are you talking about the bottom frame with the tracks? I tried to remove the seats from those bottom frames by unbolting a few screws but could not; the...
