After trying again I was able to make the old accumulator fit (obviously couldn't open up the new accumulator just to try to make it fit). So I think I should be able to make the new one fit as well....

Hi,

I bought my 2003 2.3L Ranger without functioning AC two years ago (missing compressor clutch). I am not sure why the compressor clutch went missing or what was actually wrong with the system....

I'm also skeptical. I might consider just buying a used ac compressor with the clutch. If I can find something with lower mileage.

Explorers would have the same AC compressors as Rangers no?

I think the one in the link is another hose because the one I need to replace I can get my hands on without removing any parts. It will not be easy to remove it but I am fairly confident I can do it...
