Re: '99 Stepside Frame Swap

Yea, it was $20+ for a 20' roll... So at the rate I'm going with it, I'd end up spending about the same as taking it to a pro. I'd rather save my time and do something else... Vacuum lines...

Re: '99 Stepside Frame Swap

I did. Seemed pretty straightforward... I squeegeed the window with a razor to make sure there wasn't anything left... also did this in a closed garage with no air circulation... laid the film over...

Re: '99 Stepside Frame Swap

I gave up, haha

3 good tries, 3 solid fails, 3+ hours... no thanks.

I'll pay a professional to do it sometime... better than chasing bubbles for hours and using half of the tint I've got only...

Vacuum hose routing, A/C troubleshooting

I'm troubleshooting the same issue. I was able to find intact vacuum lines off a '98 Ranger 2.5L at Pull-A-Part, so I can take pictures of those lines to help someone find the correct routing (at...

Re: '99 Stepside Frame Swap

I had help here and there. The beginning was all me (sanding, cleaning, coating). Had some help from my brother-in-law in dismantling the original truck... He was the seudo resident-expert since...

'99 Stepside Frame Swap

I bought my '99 2WD 5-speed earlier this year for $2,400. Everything was on the up-n-up with the test drive, motor was and still is in good condition. The next day I gave it a thorough inspection...

Re: Wheel cylinder link problem

Update: Apparently for my model ('99 2.5L 2WD, standard cab step-side) the wheel cylinder links weren't included.

Got the truck put back together, frame-swap is complete. Brakes are good. Just...

Re: Wheel cylinder link problem

Ended up leaving them out for now. Noticed that the manual shows pistons with concave, cup-like ends for the links to sit in... My pistons have a flat mating surface for them.

Sounds like you're...

Re: Wheel cylinder link problem

I don't think it's the pistons since they move smoothly with no hangups, wheel cylinder bores are smooth as butter... but I'll break it down and double check em to be sure

Sent from my 2PS64 using...

Wheel cylinder link problem

So, I'm almost done rebuilding my '99 2WD 4cyl but have run into an issue with the rear brakes.

After finally getting my hands on a set of wheel cylinder links (from a '98 at Pull-a-Part) they...

Re: 99 Ranger Brake Link Pins

I looked everywhere for them. Apparently some places do carry them, although whether or not they'll be in-store is another question. I almost ordered a set online but decided not to since I couldn't...
