I'm no ace mechanic but maybe spray carb or injector cleaner down the intake.
If the catalytic converter breaks up inside, this also can cause weak exhaust.

I have the same problem and you gave me an idea.
Check the Catalytic Converter, they sometimes break up and plug the exhaust.
