Move console back a couple inches & fab something for the gap up front. Did the full console swap on my 95. Cup holder only in danger with taller cups.

You need a jack. also replace both shocks. Job is not hard to do. 1 bolt on top & 1 on the bottom. Hit them with some pentrating oil first.

I don't know about the spraying the shock with...

No just cleaned them up. Getting second coat of rustoplem rust barrier tomorrow. Can says it is rubber based paint so should work on springs.

Front crossmember is deeper.

The bolts use clips attached to the frame. Something like the clips on the plastic fender wells only a lot bigger. Cutting through the clips from underneath...

Take the shifter off. There is a slightly weird screw/bolt at the bottom of the shifter. Then use ball joint fork and a hammer. Pops right off.

Did the shackle flip on rear leaf springs. Actually had bolts, the original shackles had been replaced. JUst unbolted the shackles from frame and flipped them over so spring is above.
