Re: think i'll go with 265x75x15s
Will 265x75x 15 ( or the slightly smaller 255) fit a 1999 2wheel drive Ranger??? I don't know if the newer model trucks have a taller suspension than the 99' models.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
....Said a prayer in hopes the check engine light doesn't come on again. Around 100,000 miles, the problems come in waves no matter how well these trucks are taken care of. But it's still better than...

Oxygen Sensors 99' XLT 3.0
Do the right and left upstream oxygen sensors on the 1999 3.0 XLT have the same part number? I noticed e-bay has some listed as left side and some for right side, but I was thinking they are the...

Re: first time problems
For a while mine had a very slow coolant leak and a smell of antifreeze, but no visible leaks. The antifreeze smell would only occur when I had the heater on, which was due to a clogged heater core....

Re: Tallest Highway Tires For 2 Wheel Drive
Thanks for the info. It appears the 245/75r/15's are close to the overall size of 30/9.50/15 aggressive tread tires. So they will work. Walmart refused to put this size tire on my truck. They will no...

Tallest Highway Tires For 2 Wheel Drive
According to the tire size chart posted, the 30x 9.50x 15 off road tire is basically the tallest tire that can be used with no fender rubs on a 1999 XLT 2 wheel drive (without a T-bar crank). I want...

Re: Oil Leak - Suggestions Requested
I believe all Fords leak oil usually before 100,000 miles. My 3.0 Ranger is approaching 120,000 miles and has suffered multiple oil leaks. Oil pan gasket was the first leak, then the valve cover...

Re: Coolant leak - manifold nipple
Depending on your mileage, it doesn't hurt to backflush the heater core both directions anytime you change your antifreeze or replace parts. YouTube videos show how to do it. When my heat quit...

Re: Is the 3.0 worth it
I have the 99 model. The biggest issues I've experienced with the 3.0 before 120,000 miles is everything started leaking oil. Rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, timing chain cover, and the oil pan...

Re: Hows your GAS MILEAGE on ur truck? Let me know here.
Not good enough. Last I checked it was 18.5 mpg highway. But that's average. The good news is Obama's latest vehicle regulation will require all non-commercial passenger vehicles in 2025 to get an...

I'm told they can sometimes fail without warning, especially at interstate speeds. The engines are quite noisy to begin with, so unless you pay attention to any additional noises, you may not even...

Hello Ranger People
Hello from south Georgia!! I inherited a very clean XLT 3.0 2 wheel drive Ranger with 117,000 miles. I am the second owner. Everything is original with no engine work at all during it's lifetime....
