Re: Headlight upgrade recommendations
The headlights on my '96 are super dim. Are there any stockish looking modern replacements, or is a projector retrofit still a recommended option?
Anyone have any ideas of what type projector...

Re: Replacing the parking brake release pull
On the parts truck, I used a bolt cutter to cut the flat lever that the pull is rivited to. Then there's 2 or so screws near the handle. Ground the rivet off on the bench grinder, drilled hole...

Re: 1997 ranger door sensor?
To disable the dinger.
There is a single wire connector on the ignition cylinder. Cut the wire or yank it out (I did the latter) and no more door ding!

The '98 was the devil sohc, before they fixed them in '01 (?), with the timing chain tensioner issues. Made really good power.

Push rod or ohc 4L? Automatic or manual? What was the original tire size?
I had a '98 expo with the sohc 4L and that truck had some get up and could pull... My setup will still burn the tires...

Re: '96 Splash lift
Found a gear ratio calculator, says the 3.73 with 31s runs 3.07 to 1. Recommends 4.54 as ideal so I'll throw in the 4.10. Goes hard in 1 and 2, 4th barely holds 60 (no telling what actual speed...

So far, results have been overall positive. Took some railroad tracks at speed and it felt great, not too stiff and no rubbing. Only negative is the gearing. It still has getup but it feels like...

Got to fix the sag before they will mount the tires....

Re: Instrument cluster
There has to be something more than grab and go, plug and play. If not, statistically, I am having some shit luck.
I'll take my 2 back and get 2 more, probably tomorrow.
