Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
Well, as matter of fact, it is a 3.5 EB. I refuse to get into the silly and factless Eco vs. V8 debate that every single Ford truck thread degenerates into these days. It's been done to death. Pick...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
...I traded it in for a bit of an upgrade. I loved my Ranger, but lately I was finding it just too small. So I got a brand new 2018 F150 Lariat 4X4. This thing is awesome! And gets better gas mileage...

Einszett Glanz Wax
Shined up my Ranger with Einszett Glanz Wax. First time I've ever used it. I like it a lot. I know there's better out there, but this wax produced a great result with minimal effort, and the price is...

Re: The Ranger Bilstein 4600/5100 Shock Buying Guide
Well, I did put the 4600's in my Ranger with the new torsion bar keys back in February, and all seems good as far as I can tell. I haven't done any heavy off roading, but certainly haven't noticed...

Replacing Stock Lift Blocks - 08 Ranger
Did a search but couldn't find the answer. I have an 08 Sport 4X4. It has stock 1.25" lift blocks in the back. And they have those extension "wings", which I'm assuming are important. I'd like to add...

Yeah, if I decide to stay silver, I'll just refurbish it, polish, and wax.

I'm with you 100% there! But I need the protected space, so that's no dice. Unless I buy a mini van.

Re: To Paint Canopy or Not to Paint - Your Opinion
hmmm..... the heat issue is a good point. Not exactly Arizona summers here, but it does get hot in July and August, and I do carry some stuff that can be heat sensitive. It would get pretty hot....

Re: To Paint Canopy or Not to Paint - Your Opinion
Makes total sense! The thought occurred to me that the newly painted canopy would look "fresher" than the truck. If that happens, I guess I'll just have to wash and wax it a bit more!

Re: Recommend a tonneau style
I really liked my trifold. In the end, I needed more enclosed dry space, so had to put a canopy on it. I much prefer the look of the tonneau cover, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. If you want to...

Re: To Paint Canopy or Not to Paint - Your Opinion
The wheels were refinished just before I bought the truck, and they did a really nice job on them. They are a charcoal greyish colour, and have a nice texture. The front wheels are always darker and...

Re: To Paint Canopy or Not to Paint - Your Opinion
I'm lucky because if I choose to paint, I have the equipment and experience to do it myself. And the black is very easy to match in this case. No fancy metallic flakes or anything. Just black. So it...

To Paint Canopy or Not to Paint - Your Opinion
I'm not a big fan of the look of a pick up with a canopy, but after a few months with a tonneau cover it became apparent that I needed more enclosed, dry space. Canopies are expensive, so no way was...

Re: Need new rear shocks
I just put some Billstein B6 4600 series in my 2008 Sport 4X4, and I'm super happy with them. A huge improvement. Mind you, I could grab the ends of the old ones and play them like an accordion. The...

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Did you buy the 2000, 6000, or 7000 series?

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
I put Billstein 4600's shocks on the back of my 2008 Sport 4X4. Pretty sure the shocks on the truck were original. Don't know why, but I didn't think I'd feel much of a difference. When I got the old...

Re: 4.0 sohc timing chain rattle - everything you need to know
Great information on this thread. I just bought an 08 Ranger 4X4 4.0L last October with 80,000 miles. Last week, I heard the rattle for the first time. It only happens occasionally, from a cold start...

Re: The Ranger Bilstein 4600/5100 Shock Buying Guide
I've read the thread, and it's great information. I'm still unsure about what is considered "lifted". Would a 2.5" torsion bar levelling kit on the front of a 2008 Ranger Sport 4X4 be considered...

Re: Hows your GAS MILEAGE on ur truck? Let me know here.
I track my mileage on Fuelly. (http://www.fuelly.com/) I've only filled my Ranger twice since I bought it. My last fill up showed 18.5L/100km (12.7 Mpg). Not great compared to what I'm used to, but...

Re: 4x4 vs 2wd
I'm on Vancouver Island, and we don't get much snow. In fact, it's been over 1,000 days since we've had snow on the roads. I bought my 4X4 Ranger a few weeks ago because I like 4X4's. Sure don't...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
Drove it in the snow for the first time. We don't get a lot of snow here on Vancouver Island, so I was really looking forward to trying out the 4X4. Very happy with how the truck handles snow and...
