we took it out last night to go rescue (or what we thought was rescuing and ended up being a waster of time) and the only way we found it to engage was to turn off the truck, basically count to five....

I doubt it about the motor. Only because it goes into 4H perfectly. But you may be right about never going in 4L :)

hah, nice! I washed mine the other day, got her all pretty, then when I let my boyfriend drive my truck for one day, it comes back muddy. not that i dont like her muddy, but i didnt get to do it!

yeah. ive pretty much tried everything. it does eventually engage, but it takes a while. what gets me is the clunk that occurs when it does engage and disengage.

yeah. and you can feel it in 4H obviously due to the feel of the truck and the speed of it. but I can have the switch in the 4L position and it doesnt grab.

yeah I know. I had a prerunner white bed on it when I bought it. I couldnt handle prerunner crap on a 4x4. so I found a edge bed. I also have the Edge front fenders. black though. i'm looking into...
