Read my latest note on recall 16s26 today, again. Just noticed...do not allow anyone to sit in passenger side seat until the repair is made.

Re: Frame rivets, hardened?
Just finished a similar effort on my f100. I center punched, drilled with smallish bit and larger bit, going deep enough to get through frame. Then used a 4 inch angle grinder.

Re: I'm after some POR15 tips/advice.
In working on my old 71 f100, I used por 15 on all frame members and underneath body parts. I just brushed off the loose dirt, applied the por 15. Let it dry and painted.

Re: Towing Capabilities
If it's the full width camper, about 8 feet, you will want some add-on trailer mirrors ad well. I searched around a lot and found some for my expedition from Wal-Mart on-line that work very well....

Re: Towing Capabilities
Have you set up the seven way trailer plug and installed trailer brakes on the ranger because you will need them. I considered this path but with a 21 foot tt weighing about 4200 pounds. I backed...

Re: Towing small travel trailer
Thanks for the details. My truck did come with a hitch.
One of the wiring challenges is room to work. Would love to have a lift for this effort.
Question. With this setup do I lose my four pole...

Re: Options available on Rangers
In their marketing literature and brochures ford did touted the capacity to tow. They are a full on cab on frame truck. I think they have the ability, just not necessarily the best option.

It does have transmission cooling using the radiator. Not a standalone cooler.
I did order a set of Fit System deluxe universal towing mirrors from Walmart. I liked the look of the ratchet...

The ranger has the trailer package. Would that not be part of that offering?

Well signed papers and a travel trailer today. Little heavier than my first choice...4,200 pounds with about 500 pounds at the hitch...but still within trucks stated range. Now I will begin my quest...

Options available on Rangers
Is there a source listing available options and packages for our vehicles? For instance my window sticker lists class III trailer and also hitch. Was there such a thing as a trailer towing package?...

The hitch is supposed to be better than the old style load distribution hitches I have used in the past to include anti sway and levelling features.

trying out an inexpensive backup camera
Don't expect my wife to drive the Ranger much - she hates the ride (I am not fond of its Willys Jeepish demeanor either), but I know she would feel better with a backup camera.
So after some...

I have owned primarily Fords/Mercuries (never a Lincoln) over the years (Chevy or two has been spotted in my driveway once or twice). But, by and large I am Ford guy.
I have two Ford pickups - 69...
