4-inch lift kit and full suspension rebuild parts for 2003 2.3 standard cab

I thought I'd try posting this here to see if there's any interest.

I was going to rebuild my front and rear suspension before installing a 4-inch lift kit on my 2wd coil spring 2003 Ford Ranger...

Re: Need some insight into Boiling Coolant hot engine 2003 2.3 4cyl Ford Ranger

Mine acts the same exact way. It definitely runs stronger when the engine is warming up (open loop) vs. when the engine is completely warmed up (closed loop). I want that "power" all the time and...

Re: 2010 2.3

No, there is no camshaft synchronizer on these 2.3L Duratec engines.

For that function the ECU uses a Camshaft sensor and Crankshaft sensor instead.

The camshaft sensor is located at the back...

Re: Intermittent ticking, loudest at bracket

Although I've never done one on these engines, it will require a few special tools because of the way these engines are "timed" and that the crankshaft pulley is not keyed to the crankshaft. You'll...

Re: What is this little white cap thing?

Looks like the vent cap (http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/attachments/2011-2014-v6-mustang-tech/265081d1378619016-2011-rear-axle-vent-cap-leak-fix-img_1841.jpg) for the axle or transmission.

Re: 2007 ranger small oil leak diagnosis

I had an oil leak that "looked" like it was a possible rear main seal leak. I wasn't too keen on taking on that task and decided to do it later. However, my intake manifold with the IMRC flaps was...

Re: 04 thermostat in an 02, 2.3

No change? That's certainly good to hear. I'm going to give this a try once I get a few other things done to it.

Oh and I was incorrect on my city fuel mileage. It was 23 mpg and not 26.

Re: 2019 Ranger Spied

A Raptor Ranger? Ok, now that would be interesting if this isn't fake. I wonder what price point it would start at?
For engines I would guess a detuned Ecoboost 2.7 or maybe an Ecoboost 2.3.

Re: Fuel ⛽️

I will submit that if your 2008 has well over 200,000 miles on it and a lot of carbon build up on the pistons, then using premium "might" help.

But, if the truck has been reasonably cared for then...

Re: 04 thermostat in an 02, 2.3

I bought the truck from a friend a little over a year ago (it was not in good shape) for a steal and so I just really don't know what kind of fuel mileage it was getting. But, the first day after...

Re: 04 thermostat in an 02, 2.3

Yeah, I just have it plugged into the old thermostat and zip tied it all up out of the way. Once I can figure out a way of making it plug and play then I'll install the resistor I bought.

Re: 04 thermostat in an 02, 2.3

Harbor,

I meant to ask you, but, do you have emissions testing where you live? I don't here but thought I'd ask.

I'm sure that 180* thermostat is probably causing the engine to run a tad...
