I had a 1996 Mazda 3.0L RWD. Definitely check out the rust especially the backside of the rear wheels, tailgate and under the cab.

For $1500, you should get a slightly newer Ranger model...96-98...

245/75-16 is a common size for newer Rangers that want to stay close to stock. 255/70-16 is the stock tire size for my 4x4.

235/75-15 are +5.4% larger than 225/70-15. Your speedo and odo will be off accordingly.

Have you tried adding a couple of sandbags over the rear axle? I added two 40-50 pound sand bags to my 1996 RWD Mazda truck year round and no more fishtailing in the wet.

BFG AT T/A KO are also rated for severe weather (mountain snowflake)....after driving them over 2 winters, they are at the bottom end of the most winter tires. Even a cheap set of studded winter...

Disc brakes become stock with 2010 and 2011. FX4 has been available with both model years in Canada....basically a Sport 4x4 with power, chair type seats, etc.

Probably in the last 1-2 years.

The two layers was the major criticism of the Blizzaks by their customers.

I thought that Bridgestone changed the tire compound so that there is only one multicellular compound...not 55%/45% multicellular/all-season split as in previous Blizzaks?

They are on my shortlist once my General Altimax Arctics give out. The studs on the Generals are noisy on dry and wet roads....awesome when it's snowy or icey. Prices on the DM-V1 have dropped this...
