Re: Ford Ranger Returning in 2019
So you mean it misses the mark for you. Again, with where the F150 may be price-wise then, that should give you an idea where the Ranger may be. I don't think the Ranger as it was would find much...

Re: Transmission issue
Picked the Ranger up from the shop today. Turns out a few chunks of carbon blocked the EGR valve and prevented the AIS motor from moving. Looks like I was way off, thinking it was the transmission....

Hit 178,500 today. The rust may be the first thing to kill it.

Re: Ford Ranger Returning in 2019
A larger Ranger seems to miss the mark. The size we know it to be is what I like about it.

No codes. Talked to a transmission guy today who thought it was odd. I have to drop it off for diagnosis sometime soon...

No lights on. Good idea to check codes--I'll do that.

Re: Transmission issue
Grumpa, thanks for the comment. No such symptoms when driving, only when shifting gears after driving. This feels expensive.

Transmission issue
Hi Guys,
I have a 2005 Ranger Edge 4x4 with automatic transmission. In the past few days I have a problem when I shift to park after driving. When I shift to park, the engine bogs down like it's...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV
Today I changed the transfer case fluid. The old fluid looked good--glad the previous owner changed that fluid. Now at least I know how old this stuff is. Also vacuumed out the power steering fluid...

That color yellow looks perfect on your truck. Very cool.
Since my Ranger is new to me, I got a Ranger T-shirt: http://www.cafepress.com/mf/60104939/ford-ranger_tshirt?productId=578820806

Re: Oil still a bit dirty after oil change
I would say it looked like oil with 1-2K miles on it, instead of new oil. The oil had 5800 miles on it, and it looked like the previous oil change had an oil cleaner/additive during that oil...

Oil still a bit dirty after oil change
Last week I changed the oil (5 quarts) & filter. The oil level is good with adding 5 quarts, but after checking the oil level, the oil was dirtier than I expected. I guess this means there's still a...

I did this just last week to replace the rear shackles and shackle brackets. I used a 4" grinder to grind off the rivet heads, then used an air chisel between the bracket and frame to get the bracket...

New in Maryland
Hi Everyone,
I just bought a 2005 Ford Ranger Edge with 173,500 miles. It has the 4.0L engine, automatic transmission, 4X4, trailer hitch, cap (which I may or may not keep), and is in pretty good...
