Re: harbor freight welder

It's been a while now, but I bought a HF 220 mig rig and took it back the next weekend. For the same reason mentioned above... plastic gears and feed wheel. I exchanged it for a Hobart 180 and it...

Re: Ford Warranty

You want to make sure the problem is documented each and every time you go to the dealer service department. This is needed to claim against the "Lemon" law.

If I had the situation without a...

Re: Overdrive light blinking everynow and then

You said it seems to be shifting fine with no noise?

Maybe speed sensor? Agree above, don't want to go UNTIL you hear noises!

Re: Overdrive light blinking everynow and then

If you get a chance the next time it flashes.... count the number of times it flashes. Think of it as morris code from your truck. You will need to watch the pause between flash segments.

A...

Re: my new old ranger what do you think?

Staying away from the price.... it looks like a nice solid truck. Very clean for the age. Can't wait to see your mods start!

Re: Solenoid makes rapid ticking sounds only in the morning

WOW! Hope nothing else was damaged. On a lighter note, it is probably safe to say 1KOOL1 had the call on this one.

Re: Rear Bumper

We see it in all makes and models when we do a bumper replacement here at the shop. It sometimes is because of being bumped or pulled, but a lot of the time it is just not adjusted properly. You...

Re: Choosing an aftermarket headunit

When I picked up my single den, same story... last one. Really upset and confused at first, there is like twice a much plastic than what you need to install. The kit fits multiple models, makes,...

Re: Solenoid makes rapid ticking sounds only in the morning

Is it possible that you have something running down your battery at night... something like a light, amp, etc... Sounds like the battery gets a drain, then once you are up and going the alternator...

Re: Have a belt question

I don't know about the smaller motor, but the 4.0 is notorious for the crank shaft pulley separating from the rubber center. You really want to check it out because as it separates, you run a risk...

Re: Choosing an aftermarket headunit

Sweet. I installed a single din flip out Pioneer (AVIC series) in a Monaco Motorhome about a year or so ago. Customer called having all kinds of problems. Pioneer warrantied the head, but instead...

Re: 3 bulb to 2 buld conversion help

You know, you could just wire in some diodes like RV towing does to the towing vehicle's factory tail lights. Cost you about $30 for the kit.

Re: Choosing an aftermarket headunit

The Pioneer SuperTuners have been around forever. They are great units... probably the best in the "bang for the buck" class. I just think when you get on the higher line Pioneers like flip out...

Re: Choosing an aftermarket headunit

Yup, the background color has like 6 different settings (I think...I know for sure 4). USB fronts are almost a given with the newer models.... I have had this unit for a few years (in different...

Re: Choosing an aftermarket headunit

You may be thinking about formats versus audio/data. If you get a head unit that can read/play mp3, you can burn way more songs on one CD versus burning standard audio (wave) format. That is how...

Re: Painting chrome parts?

You could etch the chrome (which requires you to use acid so have caution), primer, then paint. Or, have some fun with a good sandblaster and get the chrome plating off down to the metal bumper. ...

Re: Starting/Cut Out Problem

Another thing you may want to check is your coil pack. When I had my dealership that was the most common issue. The coil packs get wet from engine washing or underbody splashes and will crack (good...

Re: Would You Buy A Real Compact Pickup Truck?

GM already faded out the mid size Colorado and Canyon. Dodge is supposed to keep their Dakota alive and even offer a diesel version as well as a Fiat gas motor sometime in the near future.
