Re: Rock Auto belt molding issue
You are fortunate to have a dealer with reasonable prices nearby. Our local Ford dealer seems to use a "list plus 30%" pricing scheme, so they are the absolute last place I would try to buy parts....

Re: AC Problem
It could be that the compressor clutch gap is excessive or the magnetic coil is going bad. As the parts heat up the magnet loses its strength, so if it comes on once or twice but then no more, this...

Re: Plugged rear diff vent causing rear seal leak?
I have had the same experience with a plugged breather tube. Yes, it will cause the seals to leak as the rear end heats up and pressurizes. Sadly, I think my old seal was fine, if I had only figured...

Trucks are replaceable, daughters are not. Hope she wasn't badly hurt, and hope she learned a lesson that will serve her well somewhere down the road. Sorry to hear about your truck, though. My wife...

Re: Prior owner Splashed Paint On Tailgate
If it is house paint it should be latex paint - a paint remover like Oops or Goo-Gone will likely remove all or most of the paint without hurting the factory finish as long as you don't scrape it...

Re: Odd Idle Behavior with Clutch In?
Just an update for anyone who might have this problem in the future. I have been working on this issue a little at a time as I had free time.
I tried replacing the IAC first, with no change....

Re: How to allow passenger seat to move further forward..??
For some reason (maybe weight?) the 2.3L Supercab Rangers only came in 2-door, not available in 4-door, as far as I can tell. I can only tell you that I have NEVER seen a 2.3L 4-door, but would love...

Re: How to allow passenger seat to move further forward..??
For what it's worth, the passenger seat in my old '86 Supercab went a heck of a lot further forward for access to the rear than my '08 Supercab does (neither are four-door). Seems like a step...

Re: Trying engine
It could also be a vacuum leak in your climate control circuit. It will be harder to do with the engine revved up, but turn your selector to defrost and see if you hear a "hissing" vacuum leak...

Re: Odd Idle Behavior with Clutch In?
Thank y'all. That bug, virus, or whatever this site seems to have persistently makes it hard to get on here sometimes. I appreciate your advice and will take a look at the AIC.

Odd Idle Behavior with Clutch In?
The truck I have had for about two years has begun exhibiting an odd idle characteristic. It is a 2008 2.3L 5-speed, about 135k miles.
At road speed, when I push in the clutch to coast to a stop...

It's hard to tell what your AC system is doing from a single gauge. To figure out what the issue is, you really need a dual set of gauges and a chart that shows the normal operating pressures at a...

I really hate those intermittent, clandestine water leaks. My 2008 (bought used a couple years ago) shows signs of having water leaking into the fuse panel/SJB. Fortunately, it no longer appears to...

Re: Duratec Oil Filter: FL-910S or FL-400s?
Thanks, Tyler. That part number doesn't appear to match anything. HP-1002, maybe? Unfortunately, I'm no fan of K&N filters; I've seen way too many of their oiled air filters wreck engines by letting...
