Bypass valve in the heater hoses? Under the hood. Works by vacuum from the heater control.
There is also a damper motor under the dash. Remove the glove box to get at it.

Jac Nassar nearly doomed the company. I worked 2 1/2 years at World Headquarters in Dearborn, where the real company gossip gets passed around. Amazing some of the stories I was hearing.
