Re: Lets see your overlanding/expedition/camping rig.

I just got a set of these lights, not sure if they're going on the ranger or my F-150. Anyways how do you like them?

Re: How many miles do you have on your Ranger?

141886, I'd say that's low for a 90.

Re: Retro Ranger Build

So I'm already lost with this project and don't know which way to take it. Seeing all of your guys nice trucks is kind of making me want to lift it and getting some better tires. Maybe building a...

Re: Suspension Springs 4 cylinder VS 6 cylinder

If your talking about the older cast iron 2.3, you wouldn't get much lift. Those little motors are heavy. One 2.3 head probably weighs close to both of the 4.0 heads.

Re: Fan clucth rotation

I returned the fan clutch. It killed what little power my little engine makes. I put the stock crap back on until I can afford a good electric fan. I thought I'd let ya'll know incase anyone was...

I got them from Ollies, paid $40 for both. I haven't had them on yet. Still working on the light bar.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread III

I'm trying to make something to mount lights to. I just got a good deal on some 4" HID flood lights.

Re: Brxxxck's 01 XLT 3.0 2wd

I'm sorry, I know this post is old. I'd use 3/4", 1/2" is very week. You can bend it by hand. 3/4" is much stronger. I'm thinking about throwing my camper back on and building a rack too. I'll be...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread III

IDK. My other ranger had broken springs too, I guess old age.

I'll get some pics, I'm trying to track down a welder right now. I cant get my dads stick welder to work right. It's funny, I'm...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread III

I need to do something about my bench, it has two broken springs.

I started building a light bar today. I'm using 1 1/4" & 1" EMT.

Re: Fan clucth rotation

They must be rotation specific. I went to the part store and found one for standard rotation. I got it from a earlier bronco with a 302. I lost some power but at least its not running hot anymore.

Fan clucth rotation

Does any one know if fan clutches are rotation specific? The electric fan isn't keeping it cool enough for my liking. I got a new 15" metal fan (the plastic fan is cracking) but the hub is a...

Re: Subaru commercials "they lived"

How the hell did a mustang survive a head on with a full size truck. Not calling bullshit but wow.

Re: Subaru commercials "they lived"

I was rear ended by a Durango when I still had my 87. My bumper was a little bent and my head broke the rear window but the Durango left on a flat bed. I'd have to say Ranger 1, Durango 0.

Re: 2.3l Stroker build for 96 Ranger

I'd leave the engine alone if you're worried about mpg. The 2.5 head might give you a little more with the lighter valvetrain. Put a better flowing airfilter and catback exhaust, might give you a few...

Re: Catastrophic Engine failure again!

Does anyone else drive your truck? If so don't let them anymore. Valve springs don't normally brake with that low of miles unless it's been over revved.

Re: 2.3l Stroker build for 96 Ranger

The 2.5 has smaller valve stems, I believe 7mm and they have beehive valve springs. I wouldn't mill it at all if you don't plan on running high test fuel. Its already 9 to 1. The reason new cars run...

Re: 2.3t heads on 2.3 block? Need opinions

I don't know too much about the newer DOHC 2.3s but I think they have around 10 to 1 compression. That much compression with a turbo and pump gas will not last long. You're going to need forged dish...

Re: 2.3t heads on 2.3 block? Need opinions

Rebuild your motor and add a turbo. They're different engines, yours is a DOHC.
