Smile Re: Remove Control Bezel

-My thanks to you all. Somehow I missed seeing the screws when I was looking around. Too much dependency on manuals, I guess.
-I'll work on it this weekend & hope that "Crazy Glue" works.

Unhappy Remove Control Bezel

-On my 2002 XLT the left hand 12V outlet got pushed in and I can't fish it out to glue it back in. The Chilton manual doesn't give instructions on removing the bezel. How do I get in behind the...

HELP!!!
-I have two REAL problems with the driver's side half door. I can't get it open and am afraid to pull too hard on the plastic door handle for fear of breaking it.
-Problem #1: how do I get...

Re: Towing disc brake kits

Yes, most trailers above a given weight do have their own brakes and the current electric brake controllers are much better than those available years ago.
BUT, and this is a BIG but, I feel safer...

Re: Towing disc brake kits

Do either of you do any towing? If so, how much do your trailers weigh?
I'm curious because I'm considering putting a 5.0 into my beast to do some towing, perhaps as much as 3500lbs. I'm positive...

Re: Brake upgrades?

What options are available for those who want a more significant brake upgrade? I'm considering putting a 5.0 into my beast to do a little towing so better brakes are definitely on the "must do" list.

Re: 5.0

I must be missing something, Rat Ranger: are you saying that a 5.0 won't (easily) fit into a 2WD Ranger?
What I saw in some other posts suggested getting all of the electronics AND the transmission...

3.0 vs. 4.0

-I have a 2002 XLT, 3.73 and 5R44E or 5R55E tranny; the VIN doesn't discriminate. The truck is a good size and in very good condition but has absolutely no power. I've toyed with the idea of going...

Re: What auto Transmision in 2001 ranger?

Zipties on the throttle cable... Who dreamed that up, Henry or Edsel??
I'll have to look at the spaghetti bowl under the hood & see if.

Re: What auto Transmision in 2001 ranger?

I understand the airbox, although I'm not convinced of the efficacy, but what is the "throttle cable" reference?

Re: Gas save

-Thanks for the responses.
-My beastie is a 3.0 V-6 with 4 speed auto. I broke down and did some internet searching; it turns out that ALL Rangers get execrable fuel mileage. I note that there was...

Re: Gas save

My truck is completely stock; has new tires and I change the oil & filters per schedule. I've kept track of my mpg since getting the truck and it stinks: right around 20mpg. And, no, I very rarely...

Howdy!

Brand new member; have a true "little old lady" truck: a one owner, dealer serviced, 2002 that had only 42k miles on it when I got it two years ago. In fact, it still had the original tires on it,...
