I would recommend 10w30 and replace one quart with Lucas oil treatment. I prefer using Castrol. The Lucas oil treatment is some really good stuff.

Since it has been running hot and yesterday I noticed that you could smell a scent of gas in the radiator, and it is suddenly loosing water quickly...it looks like I have a blown head gasket.
