it will be ricy i have an 18' or so glasspack that i pulled off my v8 ranger cause tha honeycomb section of my catr broke loose and turned sideways inside so i welded a glasspack with it exiting...

no u dont tie into tha coil i have a 97 2.3 with no tach and i installed one by running tha hot leg of tha tach to tha tach wire coming out of tha pcm and tha neg to tha ground and mines works fine...
