Is it my starter or something else?

After I replaced my clutch kit, I could not, no matter what I tried, get the top starter bolt threaded all the way in. It went in enough to hold the starter, but I guess road vibration wiggles it...

Yea, I just very carefully applied painters tape to every surface but the rings and spray painted. It's tedious but doable.

I didn't drain mine when I took it off to do my clutch kit job. Sumbitches are heavy. I'm still amazed I put it back on with no help.
