Re: Mysterious fuel issue

Update

Found the problem. I wasnt getting any check engine codes even though at this point the truck would barely run. I decided to check my check engine light. When I turned the key on, it did...

Re: Mysterious fuel issue

At the recommendation of my dad's mechanic, I rigged my fuel pressure gauge coming out of my hood so it was readable while driving. The fuel pressure remained normal as the truck was doing its...

Re: Mysterious fuel issue

It's not the fuel pump relay. Truck stalled out at the stop sign 1/4 mile from the house this morning. I noticed this time the voltmeter dropped significantly when the truck was acting up. The action...

Re: Mysterious fuel issue

I suppose that's plausible, but it really acts like its running out of gas. I had a cracked spark plug once, and it ran really really sh*tty. It was incomparable. I switched the fuel pump relay today...

Re: Mysterious fuel issue

When you say "does it stumble right after cruising speed," it depends. Sometimes it does it while cruising in 5th. Sometimes while coming to a stop or at idle. Sometimes while accelerating. The only...

Re: Mysterious fuel issue

I do have an ODBII scanner, but my ranger is a 94. It is not equipped with an ODBII port. The check engine light is not on. I could try jumping the EEC test port and see if it gives me any codes.

Re: Mysterious fuel issue

What's the best way to test the maf? I cleaned it with maf cleaner and installed a new air filter.

Re: Mysterious fuel issue

It has no problem starting up. Would that cause intermittent failure? I'm trying to find a correlation between the truck warming up and the issues smoothing out.

Re: Mysterious fuel issue

It acts like it's running out of gas when it has the issue. It did it last night right after my post and again this morning. It's getting worse. Today was 1.5 miles down the road. Last night was 5....

Re: Mysterious fuel issue

No, just gas. Are you suggesting water in the gas tank? I took great care to clean the top of the tank prior to installing the pump. It was a sunny 85°. I don't see any way I could have water in my...

Mysterious fuel issue

Hi, and thanks in advance to any help given. I have a 94 Ranger with the 2.3 engine and manual 5 speed transmission. It has 210,000 miles, and is my daily driver/work truck. Last week, as I was...

Re: leaking coolant from behind fuel pressure regulator

Alright I couldn't get the crankcase ventilation filter out without taking out the whole manifold. I took it out along with the fuel rail and injectors. After that, one bolt and viola! Freeze plug...

Re: leaking coolant from behind fuel pressure regulator

Also called the crankcase ventilation filter. Everything I've searched has had no information about removing this thing. Surely someone has blown this freeze plug before besides me.

Re: leaking coolant from behind fuel pressure regulator

I've taken off the upper manifold. There is a little black box with a sensor coming out the top under the lower manifold. I think its the pcv valve. I could see one bolt, and I removed it, and was...

Hey guys. Just put a new radiator in my ranger last week. Its been running cooler than ever til this afternoon. Instead of about a third of the way up the temp gauge registered about halfway. I...
