Re: Starter Engaging After Startup

Sorry, been away for a bit. I appreciate the suggestion. I went ahead and bought an ignition switch when I went to get a new starter since it was cheap (like $21 for a lifetime). Installed it and the...

Long story short-
Rebuilt the 4.0l in my 1997 Ranger over the past few months, finally got it put in a few weeks ago. It runs good when it runs, but after about a half minute of idling, the starter...

Re: Cylinder 4,5,6 Misfire, Banks 1 Lean 2 Rich

I forgot to mention that the plugs and coil pack were replaced about two weeks ago, and the wires seem good and were replaced back in February. I can try a compression test here in a couple days.

Cylinder 4,5,6 Misfire, Banks 1 Lean 2 Rich

Long story short, I've been fighting a random multiple misfire the past few weeks. On a trip he started acting up, so naturally I pretended to ignore him and checked codes when I got home. Was...

Re: 96 2x4/4x4 Conversion- Difficulty Level?

I appreciate the response.
3rd Gen? Confusion. 93-97 are 2nd Gen, right? At least that's what this website has led me to believe lol. He's got the ECU, and I'm sure the front crossmember would be...

96 2x4/4x4 Conversion- Difficulty Level?

So I found a guy selling a complete drivetrain from a 96 4x4 4.0 auto, and was wondering how difficult it would be to swap out the front end on my 96 2wd for it. A little custom work isn't a problem...

I appreciate the response. The cam is riding, no worries there. Man, you really looked into this hard. Hope the inspection was free lol.
As far as the TB goes, I'll definitely get that cleaned up....

Re: Cleaning This Buildup?

Ok, I appreciate it. My first thought was to spray everything with carb cleaner, but decided I might ask first lol

Cleaning This Buildup?

I picked this 2003 XL 2.3 two weeks ago and was checking out the spark plugs yesterday when I noticed the pool of oil submerging the #2 & #3 plugs. I'm halfway through replacing the valve cover...

I'll check it out. From what I'd researched, I didn't realize there were any other choices lol. I appreciate the info.

Re: Our Trucks W/302- C6 or T5?

The truck in question is the 96. it's just a single cab rwd. Haven't had time to throw together a build thread for it yet.
I appreciate the insight aswell.

Re: Our Trucks W/302- C6 or T5?

Factory specs run it at 275ft-lb @ 3000rpm and 200hp @ 4000rpm. Not sure how much the advance or bieng carb will affect those numbers though.

Re: Our Trucks W/302- C6 or T5?

I understand that lol. I'm just wondering if anyone running/ that ran with a T5 is having any issues holding the power of the 302. I'm reading people saying it works fine, others say it doesn't work...

Our Trucks W/302- C6 or T5?

Wasn't sure whether to ask in V8 area or here, but since it's an actual drivetrain issue, here I am. :D
So I 'm in the process of dropping a 302 off in a Ranger I bought about a month ago, and...

Re: Brake Caliper Question

Like, the pedal retracts a little, then quickly pushes back to about where it was before.

I'm not sure if it has ABS, it's a base-model 4x4.

I don't think the wheels are locking up, there's no...

Brake Caliper Question

I was helping a friend move this weekend and was taking an off ramp, decelerating nice and smooth. When I hit a crease in the road, however, the brake pedal kicked me once and I could hear scraping...
