Hi again. Does anyone make either 1) a harness adapter to support a cluster swap or 2) a schematic showing precisely which wires to move around in the '96 harness to support an '01 cluster?

Re: Guages
An update. I've removed the temp gauge unit itself from the old cluster. The resistor is readily apparent. I'd swap in the whole unit but the gauges swing in opposite directions ('96 swings...

Re: Guages
I'm working through precisely this issue on my '96. I swapped in a gauge cluster from an '01, giving me a tach upgrade. I also have to tackle the temp gauge guts swap and pin-swaps to make the...

Thanks! Knowing what that module is keeps me from hacking it up and making things worse.
Any info on what RetroBoy1989 mentioned in his post to this thread? My Check Gauges light seems to come...

Hi All,
Am facing a similar issue and am wondering how the advice offered herein worked out. I swapped a tach cluster from an '01 Ranger/Explorer into a '96 Ranger XLT, 4.0 Auto. All lamps,...

Re: '97 Ranger upgrade project
Hello,
Neat project. I'm resurrecting a '96 XLT in a similar way and am particularly interested in the seat swap. I'm upgrading from precisely the same seats you had to the 2003 version of what...

Re: Cold to Warm transition problem
I've pulled codes but they all cascade from the EGR system. Other than the obvious EGR issue, things look mildly corroded but otherwise OK for a 174K mile truck. I don't know my 4.0 v-6 derivatives...

Cold to Warm transition problem
Hello All,
I'm new to the Forum but not new to Rangers. Had a new '03 Edge (now gone :egg:) but am back in the pool resurrecting a '96 XLT from the brink of abandonment.
It a 2WD with the...
