Re: how do you haul kayaks?
To avoid having to "dead lift" the kayaks onto a roof rack, I started using a load extender which slips into my trailer hitch. This is a tee bar which can be set vertical or horizontal. My 14 foot...

Nice ride... big fan of the stepside bed. Have you had the truck repainted? Looks mint.

Re: 03 stepside
I would only buy one if it was a flareside/stepside. I think it gives it a more retro look and style. May not haul as much stuff but if that's what was needed, you should have bought an F150.

Rear shocks for 2x4
Wanted to lift the back end just a bit and thought of using coil-over shocks to give it an extra 1-2" compared to standard shocks. I don't want the ride to become super stiff and I don't normally...

Re: No power to A/C compressor
Thanks again... had jumped out the low pressure switch and the clutch did engage. Later in speaking with a local STS shop mechanic and telling him all the testing I had already done, he pointed to...

Re: No power to A/C compressor
Thanks for the reply. I would like to try changing or checking the low pressure switch first in the hopes it's not the clutch assembly that has failed. I tried switching out the relays to no avail so...

No power to A/C compressor
No 12v going to AC compressor to activate the clutch( checked with mulit meter while running and AC switch set to max). Also tried running 12v direct to socket on compressor and it would not engage....

Thanks to all who replied. I did the simple throttle modification with two tie straps and it's like someone dropped a new motor into my baby!
Such a simple fix and yet an amazing improvement in the...

Change Transmission Fluid?
My 2000 (124,000 miles) with the 3.0 seems lacking in acceleration. I know it's no power monster however, it still seems a bit sluggish. Years ago the advise was to never change tranny fluid on older...

Re: Seat swap bummer....
Thanks for the advise on just replacing them. CL has worked well for me in selling some cars to locals over the last few years. Salvage yards here in N.Y. are not what they were when I was a...

Re: Seat swap bummer....
Had to remove the seats while changing out the carpet. In my 2000 they were secured with hex head bolts but it was the seat belt anchors (torx) which were frozen. Liquid wrench was no help. Even...
