Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread

It accelerates too slow for the amount of noise it makes (3.0l V6) and it brakes like shit. I'm sure both are within norms for a midsize truck, but today... I hate it.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

Looks good! I did the same thing a few months ago with a FM super 44. Did you replace the stock muffler?

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

I need a new cover. Mine is cracked and has HUGE washers trying to hold it in. Not to mention my aftermarket stereo slides out when I step on the gas, haha.

I also want a CB, but I don't know...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

I dropped in a new K&N air filter today. I know they get mixed reviews, but I had a coupon and they look so shiny and cool. Also realized my engine bay needs a scrub.

Re: Steering wheel interchange????

The buttons are swappable and can also be bought new. I replaced mine in 20 minutes. New buttons seem pretty robust. Kind of expensive at $90. Easily done though.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

It's kind of addicting. I'm keeping a detailing spray and microfiber cloth in my tool box now. :D I can't imagine what guys with black trucks go through.

Re: Ford Ranger Returning in 2019

I hope it gets a redesign. Not a fan of the current overseas model. Especially the chrome vents behind the front fenders. The front clip looks like a Ford C-Max on steroids.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

I keep the inside clean, but I only ever half ass washed the outside. And I might have only done that once. I just never gave it a really close look. White always seems clean enough. My paint felt...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

I hadn't actually washed the truck since I purchased it 2 years ago. So I gave it a full detail. Sadly, it's white so you can't really tell the amount of work I put into it. Windows are nice and...

Re: New Exhaust

Its all right there as far as loudness goes. Your pipe size and tip size are going to affect that as well. Better sounding is subjective.

Re: Introductions! 1999 XLT 4x4!

Thanks!

Thanks! Not too much of a headache, just lots of screws and working in a cramped space to replace the bulbs with LEDs. They are super bright. don't run them near full brightness.

Re: New Exhaust

I think it depends on how loud you want it. The Super 44 is suggested for V6 because its note is a little more uhhhh "rumbly" I guess? Works better for the less powerful 3.0L V6. I hear mine a bit...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

Shopped around today and got a much better price. Got the muffler and tip in house, so it was a little more than online, but they got it knocked out in an hour. I don't mind paying for the...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

I think it's expensive too, but I'm shopping around. Price included Flowmaster 44, new flange(not a repair kit) side cut exhaust tip, piping and labor. Side exit before the PS wheel, all welded. The...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

I went and got a quote for a custom side exit exhaust system... $465(including re-welding new flanges after the cat)

Then I laid under my truck staring at the rusted stock exhaust and tried to...

Re: New B

Thanks! I appreciate it. Always a work in progress. He gets a little hate from my friends. "Just get a new truck!" So I have to come here to a support group, haha.

Introductions! 1999 XLT 4x4!

Hey guys! And gals? I've been lurking for a while here and thought I'd make an introduction post since I'm starting to do more and more with my ranger beyond preventative maintenance.

This is my...
